1963 TRIUMPH TR4

KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• A HPI check indicates that this car was originally blue, before being repainted in the eye-catching hue of Signal Red in the mid-1980s.
• The cabin features black vinyl upholstery accented by white piping.
• It rides on a set of 15-inch wire wheels, which are painted in silver and feature the correct two-eared knock-off hub nuts. All four are in good shape.
• The car will be supplied with its correct handbook and original tool kit, including the manufacturer’s jack, as well as two tonneau covers.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage.
• The paintwork has previously been resprayed and is in fair overall condition, with stone chips and bubbles on the leading edge of the bonnet, as well as some bubbling beneath the driver’s-side tail light, and cracks on the boot lid and the passenger-side of the bonnet.
• Inside, the cabin is presentable, but does have minor signs of wear and tear throughout, including small cuts in the seats’ upholstery and the black vinyl covering the lower dashboard, as well as fading and lifting of the lacquer of the wooden trim.
• The carpets have also come away from the firewall, and will need to be fixed back in place in due course.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This TR4 has been maintained by the seller throughout their 18 years of ownership, and all of the car’s fluids have been changed in the last two years.
• Furthermore, the brake fluid reservoir and spark plugs were replaced three years ago, and the filters and brake pads have been changed when required.

SUMMARY

This Triumph TR4 presents as a largely original example of the classic sports car, with low indicated mileage that may be correct. Kept in good running order by its keeper of the last 18 years, it would benefit from some general cosmetic ‘smartening up’, but should prove to be a fun weekend cruiser for its next owner through the rest of the summer.
