• It rides on a set of 13-inch steel wheels with colour-coded hubcaps and polished rims, complete with whitewall tyres.
• The inline-four produces approximately 105bhp and remains complete with original factory-fitted Solex PHH carburettors.
• The vehicle is supplied with some of its original books.

CONDITION

• There is no known body damage.
• The Silver metallic paintwork has evidently been resprayed in the past and now presents very well. The brightwork and badges are all present and correct, and in excellent condition. The owner reports just three small stone chips, and some cracking in the driver’s side taillight.
• Inside, the Red leather interior is reported to have been retrimmed and is in excellent condition. The dashboard and door cards are in equally good order, with just some minor wear marks on the driver’s seat and slight discolouration on parts of the carpet.
• Some of the switchgear is currently inoperative, though the car still runs and drives perfectly well.
• There are no known mechanical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was performed on 15 November 2020, with the engine given a full service.
• Prior to this, the carburettors were overhauled in 2015.

SUMMARY

This Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is a superb 1960s roadster, which evidently benefits from a prior refurbishment, and comes with both hard and soft tops. While there are some minor imperfections and non-functioning switches that the next owner could correct in due course, this is a stylish convertible in a glamourous colour scheme. In rare right-hand drive format, it would be a great acquisition for any keen Mercedes collector.
