1962 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 3.8 FHC

• It has been modified with a rebuilt 3.07:1 final drive differential, and the speedometer has been recalibrated accordingly.
• Its Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate will be included, along with its first tax disc from 1962.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage, but the bonnet has been replaced.
• The XKE Data website reveals that the bulk of the body restoration and paintwork was completed around 2004.
• Its resprayed Carmen Red paintwork is in excellent condition, with just a few minor chips around the rear hatch.
• The cabin’s re-trimmed Biscuit leather upholstery is pristine, with no wear and certainly no damage.
• The vendor has reported a scuff to the offside B-pillar trim.
• No electrical faults have been detected.
• The most recent MOT test was on 18 July 2016 at 76,516 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories or defects. The car is exempt from mandatory MOT testing.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The engine, gearbox and rear axle are believed to be original to the car, and were professionally rebuilt in 2020.
• The brakes were overhauled and a new wiring loom and fuel tank were fitted, along with new Biscuit leather upholstery and new seatbelts in the cabin.
• The engine oil was changed 200 miles after the engine rebuild, but a full service on the refreshed straight-six is not yet due.
