• First introduced in 1961, the MkII Austin Healey Sprite was a radical departure from its frog-eyed predecessor, doing away with that car’s signature headlights in favour of a more refined design.
• Finished in the eye-catching hue of Signal Red, this example features black vinyl-trimmed seats with burgundy piping, with a burgundy vinyl-covered dashboard and matching carpets completing the two-tone colour scheme.
• It rides on the correct set of 13-inch steel wheels, which are fitted with polished hubcaps and are in good shape, though the rim of the front passenger-side wheel is slightly bent.
• While the car is largely unmodified, it has been subtly enhanced with a disc brake conversion, an electric fan, aftermarket air filters, an alloy rocker cover, and a replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel.
• The car will be accompanied by a file of documents and invoices detailing its maintenance history, including a number of its past MOT test certificates.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage.
• The Signal Red paintwork has been resprayed in the past and is in great shape, with a bright and glossy appearance around the car, and only a few very minor blemishes on its surface.
• Inside, the cabin is thought to feature its original upholstery and trim, and has a charming light ‘patina’, though the seats’ burgundy piping has faded with age and there are some marks on the base of the driver’s seat.
• There are also some blemishes and small holes in the carpet.
• Its brightwork presents well, and the black convertible hood is in great shape, with no rips, tears or other damage.
• No known electrical or mechanical faults.
• While it is exempt due to its age, the car’s last MOT test was conducted on 23 July 2021 at 51,579 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no warnings or advisories.
