EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• An original left-hand-drive Series Three example, this Appia features a horizontal grille inspired by the Lancia Flaminia, as well as improved front brakes and a ‘Duplex’ dual hydraulic circuit.
• First registered in May 1964, this Appia has been with its current keeper for the last 20 years, and has previously been part of a 10-car Lancia collection.

CONDITION

• To the best of the vendor’s knowledge, this Appia’s elegant bodywork has never sustained any previous damage, now presenting in good order throughout, with flush shut lines and smooth panels.
• The condition of the white paintwork has been described as good, and though two small stone chips are present near the driver’s side headlight, the finish is believed to be entirely original.
• The vehicle rides on a set of 14-inch wheels, which are in excellent overall condition, with the exception of some light surface scratches.
• Moving inside, the seats are protected by a set of white fabric covers, which present well. Patches of the cream door cards, headlining and sun visors appear with some light discolouration and creasing, and would perhaps benefit from some light restoration work, though they are certainly in presentable condition and are wonderfully original.
• All of the electrics are reported to work as they should, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard.
• The wheels come wrapped with a set of Continental tyres, which the vendor indicates have a good amount of tread depth remaining, but are now aged and due to be replaced.
• Accompanying the car is some excellent original documentation, as shown in the gallery, which shows the regular inspections to ensure the car was kept in good order.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The last routine maintenance was undertaken at 35,587 kilometres, where technicians at B.M. Repair Services Moreno Di Bonello in Padova, Italy changed the engine oil, filter and brake fluid.
• Prior to this, the vendor indicates technicians at the same garage have carried out regular servicing and have also replaced the head gasket.
• The vendor states that the car has proven to be reliable, but recommends periodic balancing of the brakes.
