EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• For the 1957 model year, the elegant Thunderbird received a reshaped front bumper, a larger grille and larger fins at the rear, and wider tail lights. Its rear section was elongated to enable the spare wheel to fit inside the trunk rather than be mounted on the rear.
• In the cabin, several cosmetic revisions were made, most notably the rearrangement of the instrument dials.
• This car is now finished in the famous Thunderbird Bronze hue, though it left the factory in 1957 painted in Inca Gold. The interior is trimmed in Colonial White, which was the original factory colour.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• Having been completely restored seven years ago, the paintwork is still in excellent condition, as illustrated in the photo gallery below. The seller notes one very small chip on the top of the driver’s side fender.
• Inside, the car was re-trimmed during the refurbishment, in the original factory colour of Colonial White. The seats are in great shape, with no wear or discolouration.
• All of the secondary trim also presents superbly, including the headlining, sun visors, door cards, and dashboard cover.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
• The car is reported to be in very good running order, with a new carburettor installed last month.

SUMMARY

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a great example of a stunning American classic, benefiting from a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration seven years ago.
