One of the earliest Lamborghinis sold on Collecting Cars is a Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2, which was brought to market in March 2021. This stunning grand tourer was considered at the time to be among the very best examples of the model in the world, and believed to be one of only 224 originally built.
No reference to Lamborghinis would be complete without a Countach, and the car offered for sale in Switzerland in June 2023 was a well-preserved example of the legendary 1980s ‘poster car’. First registered in November 1988, this Countach LP5000 QV was understood to have had just three owners from new, having remained with its first owner for 26 years, and the odometer showed a modest 57,655 Kms from new.
With a Countach-derived V12 linked to a ZF gearbox, this 1989 Lamborghini LM002 was a wonderfully original example that benefiting from 12-year ownership in the US between 1997 and 2009, before it was exported to the UAE. When it was tested by Brock Yates for Car & Driver magazine in period, the LM002 was referred to as the ‘Rambo Lambo’ – a nickname that has followed it through the generations.
Looking to more contemporary models is one that truly fitted the mould of the attention-grabbing dramatic Lamborghini. Brought to market in March 2022 by the Collecting Cars team in Australia, this Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster finished in vivid Blu Cephus was one of only 500 examples produced.
