2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON VRSCB V-ROD - 2,185 MILES

This Harley-Davidson VRSCB V-Rod is a one-owner muscle bike with remarkably low mileage; its odometer showing just 2,185 miles from new. Its 1.1-litre V-twin engine produces around 115hp, plus a tremendous noise through its twin exhausts, and is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.

The VRSCB model was only in production for two years, featuring several unique aesthetic touches over earlier generations of the V-Rod line, including blacked out framework, polished aluminium and powder-coated engine, a revised clamshell, and upgraded instruments and handlebars. The bike was first registered in September 2004 and has been kept and maintained by its original owner throughout its entire life to date.

The black paintwork on the frame and bodywork is original, and presents in very good condition, aside from some scratches on the lower left side of the fuel tank, and on the right-hand air intake fairing behind the front wheel. The brightwork presents well with no damage, while the solid wheels are also unmarked. It is understood to be fitted with a Screamin’ Eagle performance exhaust system.

The black leather saddle is in excellent condition, including the pillion backrest, while there is only a minor scratch on the plastic control box on the left handlebar above the horn button. The seller reports no faults with any of the switchgear or electrics. The bike currently has the dealer-fitted option of a reduced seat height and foot pegs, but the seller also has the original seat and pegs if required.

This bike’s last service was in March 2019 at 2,046 miles, carried out by MD Racing in Walton-on-Thames. It received a full inspection, a new set of filters and fluids, and lubricant on all the pivot points. Recent annual services covering the same components and work were also carried out in 2018 and 2017.

The bike’s most recent MOT test was on 19 April 2019 at 2,084 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories. Given the six-month extension, it is not due for another inspection until 3 November 2020. The tyres are described as all being in good condition. Accompanying the car are various receipts for previous service work and MOTs, along with the current V5C document.

The V-Rod was the first water-cooled V-twin Harley-Davidson. Bringing a wave of fresh ideas to the classic American brand, it attempted to bridge the gap between a cruiser and a sports bike, with its large-capacity engine – developed jointly with Porsche – revving to 9000rpm and offering a smoother delivery of power than had been possible in a Harley before. With such low mileage and just one dedicated owner to date, this represents a rare opportunity to own a collector-quality example that is in superb condition.
