Collecting Cars hosts Coffee Run at Wowto in Sweden
by Collecting Cars
On Sunday 1 September, Collecting Cars hosted another hotly anticipated Coffee Run in Europe; this time in Sweden, partnering with Wowto at its strikingly designed ‘destination’ showroom in Rosersberg, along the E4 highway just north of Stockholm.
A few ‘early birds’ arrived 30 minutes before the gates officially opened, among them a Porsche 996 GT3 and a high-specification Chevrolet Corvette C8. A great selection of modern classics then rolled through the gates over the next hour or so, including an E31 BMW 8 Series, E36 M3, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen, Ferrari 360 Spider with the sought-after open-gate manual gearbox, and a Porsche 964 Turbo.
Contemporary supercars were also well-represented, with the likes of a Lamborghini Revuelto, Porsche 992 GT3 Touring and 992 GT3 RS, and a bright green Lamborghini Aventador SV in the showroom. No doubt the stars of the show were a Porsche 918 Spyder and a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss. The latter was one of just 75 cars built, using the 650hp engine as found in the SLR 722, but with some 200kg of weight savings over the coupe thanks to its speedster design and carbon-fibre body panels.
In total, some 120 cars assembled at Wowto’s facility in the Stockholm area, and there were around 600 people in attendance. Guests enjoyed browsing the eclectic mix of vehicles outside, and they were also able to peruse the immaculate showroom, which was officially opened just a few months earlier.
We would like to thank Wowto for allowing Collecting Cars to host its Coffee Run at the Stockholm site, and of course we want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who took the time to come out for a morning drive and attend the gathering.
